Koyaanisqatsi: Life Out Of Balance

Last night Mickey and I went to see the New York Philharmonic perform Philip Glass’s score from Godfrey Reggio’s 1982 film Koyaanisqatsi. The movie was playing on a screen above the orchestra – it was pretty spectacular to experience the film and score in this way. However, I left feeling depressed and emotionally drained because the music was so powerful and the content of the film so disturbing to me. I suppose the fact that I left feeling so terrible actually means that the performance was hugely successful. Hmm…I’m not sure how I feel about that.
Only thing that could make things better would be a Shake Shack burger and few pre-bedtime episodes of Arrested Development. And that’s exactly what we did.
