A Shade Of Red

I love this project by photographer Alison Fox – she photographed over 100 different women and the commonality between them was “their willingness to wear a single shade of red lipstick.” Such a simple concept resulting in a really intriguing body of work. Check out more photos from A Shade of Red.

I am curious about the process the photographer used to locate her many subjects
I'm not entirely sure for this particular project – I tried to find out on Fox's site but she doesn't discuss that part. I think some photographers take out ads looking for people interested in participating in a project. Lottie Davies is working on a new project entitled "Love Stories" and posted this on her site: "'Love Stories' is a project I've just begun working on, and I need your help. If you are in a long-standing relationship, I would be really excited if you would be involved. It will take about five minutes of you and your partner's time, and only requires that you each send me an email, describing your memory of the first time that you met. It doesn't matter if you don't think your story is particularly unusual, it's your recollections of it that I'd like to hear. Also, it's important that you don't confer
as I need your individual perspectives on the moment/event." http://lottiedavies.com/#/Love%20Stories/
