I first saw Storm Tharp‘s work at The Whitney a year or so ago and was totally mesmerized. I really love his technique of first drawing on the page with water and then depositing color on the page before the water dries. He repeats this process over and over again building forms and light sources. After this first layer he begins to manipulate the form through drawing and erasing. I would highly recommend trying to see his work in person – definitely worth it.
