Oliver Wilkins‘ documentary entitled “Tracing The Past Building Anew – Reviving the Crafts of Al Darb Al Ahmar” shows how a depressed community in Cairo is able to revitalize itself through local craft. By revisiting and relearning traditional crafting techniques, the community is able to restore pride within their neighborhood and become stakeholders in their own futures.
